| บทคัดย่อ | The purposes of this research were to develop the Reading Comprehension Exercises for Prathomsuksa Six Students and to compare the students’ reading achievement before and after using the reading exercises. The samples used in the study consisted of 20 Prathomsuksa 6 students from Wat Mongkonsatan School and Ban Chong School studying in the first semester of the academic year 2014 under the jurisdiction of Trang Educational Service Area Office 1, gained by Cluster Random Sampling. The samples were assigned into the experimental group which was taught by using the Reading Comprehension Exercises and the control group which was taught by using the school’s workbooks. The instruments used to collect the data were Reading Comprehension Exercises, pre-test and post-test constructed by a researcher. The test difficulty indices ranged from 0.22 – 0.76 and the discrimination indices ranged from 0.24 – 0.93. The collected data were analyzed by the statistical means of Percentage, Mean (  ), Standard Deviation (S.D.), and t-testThe research findings were as follows: 1) The developed Reading Comprehension Exercises were efficient since the criteria were found at 76.1/76.25 based on the criteria of 75/75 (E1/E2). 2) The students’ reading achievement after using the reading exercise was statistically higher than that of before at .05 level of significance.
